My thought is, just as I am using "rclone sync" to backup my Seafile data, I can use "rclone serve" to make my Seafile photos available over FTP, SFTP, WebDav, etc. The one piece I'm still looking for is a nice way to view those photos ala Google Photos infinite scrolling list.
This allows for easy phone backups and DSLR photos to get organized into the same folders.īecause I never want to lose my data, I use rclone to sync that Seafile instance to another computer in my house to grab actual files (not the Seafile blobs) which are then backed up on a schedule to an external source. I have a nice little script that, upon upload to a "photo upload" folder in Seafile, will read the EXIF data and move it to a year/month folder as a mild form of organization. I am working on moving all of my scattered photos and various documents to a local Seafile instance.
